In the beginning God…     Genesis 1:1

But without faith it is impossible to please him:

for he that cometh to God must believe that he is,

and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently

seek him.     Hebrews 11:6

Shew me thy ways, O LORD; teach me thy paths.

Lead me in thy truth, and teach me:

for thou art the God of my salvation;

on thee do I wait all the day.      Psalm 25:4-5

THE BIBLE IS THE WORD OF GOD – THE ULTIMATE AUTHORITY – SO YOU CAN BELIEVE IT!

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:     2 Timothy 3:16

YOU CAN UNDERSTAND THE BIBLE – JUST ASK GOD TO HELP YOU.

If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.     James 1:5

GOD CREATED MAN SPECIFICALLY FOR MAN TO SEEK GOD AND TO LOVE GOD!

O that there were such an heart in them, that they would fear me, and keep all my commandments always, that it might be well with them, and with their children for ever!     Deuteronomy 5:29

Ye shall walk in all the ways which the LORD your God hath commanded you, that ye may live, and that it may be well with you, and that ye may prolong your days in the land which ye shall possess.     Deuteronomy 5:33

That thou mightest fear the LORD thy God, to keep all his statutes and his commandments, which I command thee, thou, and thy son, and thy son's son, all the days of thy life; and that thy days may be prolonged.     Deuteronomy 6:2

And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.     Deuteronomy 6:5

RIGHTEOUSNESS IS TO LOVE GOD – TO LOVE GOD IS TO OBEY HIM.

For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.     1 John 5:3

TO DISOBEY GOD IS SIN…

With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments.  Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.     Psalm 119:10-11

SIN (DISOBEDIENCE) IS TO “GO YOUR OWN WAY”, “DOING YOUR OWN THING”; IGNORING GOD; BEING GOD UNTO YOURSELF (IDOLATRY).  EVERYONE HAS SINNED; INCLUDING ME; AND INCLUDING YOU!

…they are all under sin;  As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:  There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.  They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.     Romans 3:9b-12

THE CONSEQUENCE OF SIN IS DEATH (THAT IS, “SPIRITUAL DEATH”)!

For the wages of sin is death…     Romans 6:23a

SPIRITUAL DEATH IS SEPARATION FROM GOD…

But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.     Isaiah 59:2

…FOREVER!  IN HELL!!

But the… unbelieving… shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.     Revelation 21:8

BUT, GOD DOESN’T WANT US TO DIE;

The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.     2 Peter 3:9

BECAUSE HE LOVES US!

HE GAVE US HIS SON…

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.     John 3:16

…AND LIFE THROUGH HIS SON!

HIS SON IS JESUS THE CHRIST – THE MESSIAH – THE ANNOINTED ONE.

And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.     Matthew 16:16

JESUS, THE SON OF GOD, IS GOD!

I and my Father are one.     John 10:30

CHRIST IS THE CREATOR!  HE CREATED US FOR HIMSELF – TO LOVE HIM.

For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:     Colossians 1:16

HE CAME TO SAVE US, PRAISE GOD!

Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.     Matthew 20:28

HE DIED IN OUR PLACE!

For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.     2 Corinthians 5:21

THE GREAT GOD ALMIGHTY, CREATOR OF THE UNIVERSE, HIMSELF, TOOK YOUR PUNISHMENT FOR YOU!!

He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.  Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.  But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.  All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.  He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.  He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken.  And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth.  Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand.  He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.  Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.     Isaiah 53:3-12

…He… descended… into the lower parts…  [Hell]     Ephesians 4:9

AND HE ROSE FROM THE DEAD…

He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.  And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead;     Matthew 28:6-7a

…TO PROVE THE TRUTH OF HIS PROMISE OF SALVATION AND ETERNAL LIFE.

Now if Christ be preached that he rose from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead?  But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen:  And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain.     1 Corinthians 15:12-14

But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept.  For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead.  For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.  But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming.     1 Corinthians 15:20-23

ACCEPTING CHRIST IS THE ONLY WAY TO BE SAVED.

Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.     Acts

WE ARE COMMANDED TO ACCEPT HIM!

Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.     James 4:8

…HOW?...

…BY REPENTING (THAT IS, BY GIVING UP SINNING) AND ASKING HIM TO FORGIVE YOU AND TO CONTROL YOUR LIFE…

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.     1 John 1:9

HE HAS GIVEN HIMSELF FOR US, AND HAS GIVEN HIMSELF TO US.  “ACCEPTING” HIM MEANS WE COMMIT TO GIVING OURSELVES TO HIM, AND TO LIVING FOR HIM.

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.  And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.     Romans 12:1-2

GIVE YOURSELF, BODY, SOUL, AND SPIRIT, TO GOD!

DO IT RIGHT NOW…

IN WHATEVER WORDS MAY COME TO YOU, JUST SAY, RIGHT OUT LOUD, SOMETHING LIKE…

“Lord God, You’ve been talking to me and I believe you.  I need you.  I accept Christ and I give You me.  Forgive me, and help me live for You.  And help me to really mean it and not just be saying it!  Thank You, Lord.  Amen!”

…AND CHRIST WILL LIVE IN YOUR HEART.

…because I live, ye shall live also.  At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.     John 14:19b-20

EVEN IF YOU DON’T “FEEL” LIKE ANYTHING HAS HAPPENED, TRUST HIM – HE HAS DONE IT!

So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man.  Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.  In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.     Proverbs 3:4-6

GOD, WHO CANNOT LIE, HAS PROMISED; AND GIVES YOU ASSURANCE.

All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.     John 6:37

EXCITED?  PROCLAIM IT!  PRAISE GOD!

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.  For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.     Romans 10:9-10

YES, PRAISE GOD!  YOU DIDN’T EARN IT…

Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.     Galatians 2:16

…GOD GAVE IT TO YOU – BECAUSE HE LOVES YOU.

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:  Not of works, lest any man should boast.     Ephesians 2:8-9

…NOW WHAT?...

LEARN HOW TO LOVE HIM BACK!  (AFTER ALL, THAT’S WHAT YOU WERE MADE FOR.)

GROW IN RIGHTEOUSNESS – TO MATURITY IN CHRIST AND IN THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE LORD, YOUR GOD – AS HE HAS COMMANDED US ALL SO TO DO.

…OK,  HOW?...

READ YOUR BIBLE.  OFTEN.  DAILY!

Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.     2 Timothy 2:15

GO TO CHURCH (NOT TO BE SAVED, BUT TO LEARN, AND TO GROW, AND TO BE ENCOURAGED, AND TO WORSHIP AND SERVE HIM).

Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.     Hebrews 10:25

PRAISE GOD (REJOICE).  PRAY!  AND PRAY SOME MORE!  WORSHIP HIM, FOR HE ALONE IS WORTHY OF PRAISE AND THANKSGIVING.

Rejoice evermore.  Pray without ceasing.  In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.     1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

GOD DOES ANSWER PRAYER!  PRAY!  SEEK HIS FACE!  ASK FOR HIS HELP AND GUIDANCE IN ALL THINGS (BIG AND SMALL) AT ALL TIMES…

And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.     Isaiah 65:24

…ASK FOR THE FILLING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT;  HE WILL HELP YOU TELL WHAT CHRIST HAS DONE FOR YOU…

But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.     Acts 1:8

…AND WHAT HE WILL DO FOR OTHERS!

And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.  He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.     Mark 16:15-16

ABOVE ALL, LEARN TO LOVE – REMEMBER WHY THE LORD CREATED US IN THE FIRST PLACE:

Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.  This is the first and great commandment.  And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.  On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.     Matthew 22:37-40

DO THE WORKS OF LOVE – NOT TO “EARN” ANYTHING, BUT OUT OF GRATITUDE FOR WHAT GOD HAS DONE FOR YOU;  OUT OF LOVE FOR OTHERS;  AND TO BE OBEDIENT.

Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.     Matthew 7:12

“NEIGHBOR” AND/OR “OTHERS” IS EVERYBODY ELSE – FRIENDS AND ENEMIES ALIKE!

He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.     1 John 2:4

He that saith he is in the light, and hateth… is in darkness even until now.     1 John 2:9

BY SERVING, WE LEARN TO GROW IN GODLY LOVE;  THEREFORE, PURSUE LOVE IN WHATEVER AREAS OF SERVICE COMPLIMENT YOUR GOD-GIVEN TALENTS AND ABILITIES.

Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.  And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.  Are all apostles?  Are all prophets?  Are all teachers?  Are all workers of miracles?  Have all the gifts of healing? Do all speak with tongues?  Do all interpret?  But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet shew I unto you a more excellent way.  Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not love, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.  And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not love, I am nothing.  And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not love, it profiteth me nothing.  Love suffereth long, and is kind; love envieth not; love vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.  Love never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.  For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.  But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.  When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.  For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.  And now abideth faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.  Follow after love…     1 Corinthians – 14:1a

KNOW THAT GOD WILL BLESS YOU…

The LORD bless thee, and keep thee:  The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:  The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.     Numbers 6:24-26

…IF YOU KEEP HIM IN FIRST PLACE!

Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.     Isaish 26:3

KEEPING YOUR MIND STAYED ON HIM…

…whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.     Philippians 4:8

GOD LOVES YOU AND SO DO I – GOD BLESS YOU.  AMEN!

Finally, brethren…  Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you.  Greet one another with an holy kiss [hug? handshake?].  All the saints salute you.  The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all.  Amen.     2 Corinthians 13:11-14
