1. APPROACHING FROM THE SOUTH: Leave I-25 at exit 450. Follow the exit road – it will curve around, go under the freeway, and then straighten and merge into 2nd street. Continue North on 2nd street down the hill, passing K-Mart and shopping plaza on the right. Going through 3 traffic lights, you will continue, past City Market on the right, under the train tracks, and up a hill. Keep on through another three traffic lights. The next street after the last light is Savage Avenue and the one past that is Parsons Avenue. First Christian Church is half-way between Savage & Parsons (what is God trying to tell us?) on 3rd Street, so you could turn left off of 2nd at either Savage or Parsons, go one block, and find us. Distance from the I-25 exit to the Church = 3.3 miles.
2. APPROACHING FROM THE EAST – CLAYTON HIGHWAY 64 & 87: Continue heading West on the Clayton Highway as you enter town. You will pass over the I-25 exit 451 and continue 0.5 mile to a main intersection/traffic light. There you will turn right onto 2nd street (the turn is a curved merge -- the Raton Welcome/Information Center will be on your right as you turn -- they have a red railroad caboose in the yard). You will be heading North on 2nd street, and will pass through an intersection/traffic light with City Market on your right. Continue North passing under train tracks. Keep on through another three traffic lights. The next street after the last light is Savage Avenue. Turn left off of 2nd at Savage, go one block to 3rd street, turn right and the Church will be in the middle of the block on your left. Distance from where you turned onto 2nd street to the Church = 1.4 miles.
3. APPROACHING FROM THE EAST – HIGHWAY 72: As you pass over the I-25 exit 452, continue heading West on the main route, around the “S” curve, until you come to the Stop sign. Raton Builder’s Supply will be on your left and Plaza Market on your right. Turn left to go under the railroad underpass. As you come up out of the underpass, turn right on 2nd street and immediately left onto Parsons Avenue (watch the traffic!). Go one block. Turn left on 3rd street. The Church is in the middle of the block, on your right, across the street from the Police Station. Distance from the I-25 exit 452 overpass to the Church = 1.1 miles.
4. APPROACHING FROM THE NORTH: Leave I-25 at exit 454. Turn right on the access road. It will curve to the left over train tracks and then straighten out into Canyon Drive. The speed limit is 35mph – note this is our local “speed trap”. Turn right on 3rd Street (just past the Texaco gas station & just before the Motel). Continue South on 3rd street for 2-1/2 blocks (there is a stop sign at the end of the first block – watch out – this is a dangerous intersection due to poor line of sight). The Church is on the right, in the middle of the block, right across the street from the Police Station. Distance from the foot of the I-25 exit ramp to the Church = 1.0 mile.
